The Nude Party's Self-Titled LP

Brotherhood shines through in this psychedelic rock band's full-length debut. Relocating from North Carolina to New York, the sextet brings their twangy, fun-loving roots with them up the coast and across the nation.

The Nude Party's The Nude Party

The Nude Party's made a name for themselves over the years by practicing together and playing live shows as much as possible. Performing alongside Chicago favorites Twin Peaks and Post Animal, befriending touring acts such as Ron Gallo and Caroline Rose, as well as recently supporting indie rock icons Arctic Monkeys - the band's full-length debut The Nude Party released Friday, July 6, 2018 via New West Records.

In 2012, the members came together freshman year of college in Boone, North Carolina. Patton Magee (lead vocals, guitar) and Austin Brose (percussion, vocals) linked up with childhood friends Connor Mikita (drums) and Alec Castillo (bass guitar, vocals), and stepbrothers Shaun Couture (lead guitar, vocals) and Don Merrill (organ/piano, vocals). Living together, learning instruments side by side, and playing in their birthday suits ignited what was to become The Nude Party. With 11 tracks on the album, the vivacious act shows their growth and potential in their first full-length record.

"Water On Mars" kicks off the album, depicting the perfect first impression of The Nude Party's psych-meets-roots rock 'n' roll signature. With demanding vocals and keys dominating the second track, "Feels Alright" showcases a call to action style that's found throughout the album.

Dance-along single "Chevrolet Van" tells a story about pursuing your dreams, no matter the harsh reality that may follow. The bridge in "Paper Trail" captures The Nude Party's playfulness and liveliness, immediately followed by vibrant track "War is Coming". Catchy single "Records" sounds straight out of the '60s.

Midway through the album, the seventh track "Live Like Me" features standout vocals that bring a breath of fresh air. "Gringo Che" is a raw, sexy track with riffs that easily captivates listeners. Flaunting their surf rock side in "Wild Coyote" then taking listeners on a psychedelic trip in "Astral Man", the record's almost wrapped. Ending the album with Quentin Tarintino-esque "Charlie's Sheep", The Nude Party's debut is but a tease compared to their impeccable live shows.

The Nude Party's touring this fall and headlining Empty Bottle Wednesday, September 19 with Town Criers and Rookie. Buy tickets here and stay tuned with the indie rock band below!
